Treasury’s proposed rules under the GENIUS Act, the new US stablecoin law, would let US exchanges and other digital-asset service providers keep offering some foreign-issued payment stablecoins, but only if they can defend why they trusted the issuer’s promise to comply with lawful US orders.Under the proposed rule, a provider could rely on a foreign issuer’s representation that it has the technology and intent to comply with lawful orders, such as valid orders to freeze or seize tokens where applicable, and reciprocal arrangements only after conducting reasonable due diligence. Reliance would be barred when the platform knows, has reason to…
New York City is about to become the meeting point for two worlds that rarely share a stage: sneaker culture and $NFT culture, blind-box hunters and card-game grinders. On September 3, 2026, the Collector Park NYC festival will take over Seward Park on the Lower East Side for a single day dedicated entirely to the people who collect things, whether those things live in a shoebox, a binder, or a digital wallet. The event is curated by Pudgy Penguins and OpenSea, two names that sit on opposite ends of the collectible spectrum but are betting that their audiences overlap more…
Wall Street now wants a ticker to hold almost any financial idea an investor might type into a brokerage search bar, from Bitcoin and funds promising two or three times a stock’s daily return to private assets and contracts tied to elections or economic events. The ETF began as a cheap way to own a broad market portfolio, then became the distribution system for exposures that once required a futures account, a private placement, a crypto exchange, or a patient reading of a structured-note prospectus. The SEC is reviewing how far that distribution system can stretch. Its June 30 request for public…
TRON now holds about half of the world’s $USDT supply. As of late August 2026, around 51.4% of all $USDT is on TRON, worth about $94.2 billion. That’s a significant share. It suggests TRON is becoming the main network for moving dollars on-chain. And is that good for users? This piece looks at what TRON’s dominance actually means for users, beyond just the numbers. Why Is There So Much $USDT on TRON? TRON became popular for $USDT mainly because it is cheap and fast. Sending $USDT on TRON costs less than a few cents and takes only a few seconds.…

Joseph Thompson, senior vice president and head of treasury at the London Metal Exchange (LME), is leaving the exchange to join Ripple’s Trading and Markets team. Thompson will officially depart the LME on August 31, 2026, before taking up his new role at Ripple, where he is expected to focus on expanding the company’s strategy around tokenized real-world assets. The appointment brings experience from one of the world’s largest commodities marketplaces into Ripple’s growing institutional financial infrastructure business. Aptos has announced support for Circle’s Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP) V2, a move that streamlines $USDC transfers across blockchain networks. The integration enables faster, more secure movement of $USDC between Aptos and other supported chains, marking a significant step in the network’s push toward broader interoperability. What CCTP V2 Brings to Aptos CCTP V2 introduces a more efficient mechanism for cross-chain $USDC transfers, reducing transaction times and lowering friction for users and developers. Unlike earlier versions, V2 optimizes the burning and minting process, allowing for near-instant finality. For Aptos, this means its ecosystem can now tap into a more robust…

Flint, a platform for investing in tokenized RWAs, has integrated SODAX, an infrastructure for cross-network routing and crypto asset conversion, to let users deposit assets from more than 20 blockchain networks into its vaults. Flint invests these funds in tokenized real-world assets, including real estate bonds and private credit. Flint’s vaults are built on Lagoon Finance and curated by 9Summits. They provide non-custodial access to tokenized real estate debt through audited smart contracts. The vaults accept $USDC and currently target around 10% APR, with returns paid in $USDC and distributed weekly. The SODAX integration combines cross-network routing and vault deposits…
