The Web3 gaming world seems set for yet another boost in the form of GameCamp Arena 2024, a new project highlighting the convergence of blockchain gaming and the power of collaboration between Elympics and the TON Foundation. The event aims to drive development in the creation of innovative games within the Web3 arena.
From July 29 to September 8, 2024, a six-week online GameCamp invites developers to create up to 40 competitive games integrated with the Elympics SDK and using the TON blockchain – all for a share in a $15000 grant pool.
Opportunities for Web3 Gaming Developers
GameCamp Arena 2024 offers a great opportunity for Web3 game developers to showcase their talent in front of Telegram’s massive audience of more than 900 million monthly active users.
The event is geared towards inspiring innovation and creativity among Web3 game developers, where they will compete for a share in the prize amount. The competition is open to game developers equipped with using Unity, game designers, and graphic artists.
The prize pool of $15,000, apart from the category prizes, splits between the top three games as determined by the GameCamp jury. Elympics and TON will offer support to developers through online workshops and AMA sessions for technology insights and the design of games.
Tom Kopera, COO of Elympics, highlighted the potential of the GameCamp Arena to bring new players and developers into the Web3 gaming world. “We want to make building Web3 games as easy and accessible as possible. Our GameCamp is designed to support developers in making great games using our range of tools, templates, and expert guidance to help secure mass adoption of Web3 through gaming,” Kopera said.
The TON Network
On its way to becoming a game giant in the domain of social gaming, TON—The Open Network—lets developers build such decentralized applications atop Telegram. The $TON token fuels transactions, governance, and participation incentives within the TON ecosystem.
Overall, the TON ecosystem has developed greatly: Notcoin has had 40 million users within the first six months, and Hamster Kombat has gone way beyond 200 million registered users and more than 30 million daily active leads.
