Onchain Heroes, a blockchain-based RPG, has announced its partnership with Abstract, a consumer-focused blockchain developed by Igloo Inc.
This collaboration is set to bring the game’s fully on-chain experience to life by leveraging Abstract’s infrastructure, designed for scalability and seamless user interactions.
Originally set for a Q3 release, Onchain Heroes is now scheduled to launch on Abstract in Q4 2024.
What is Onchain Heroes?
Onchain Heroes is an idle RPG that offers players a variety of strategic decisions based on their risk tolerance. Players can choose to play conservatively or opt for high-risk, high-reward gameplay, making it a dynamic and engaging experience.
The game also features a staking component, adding further complexity by allowing players to invest in the game’s mechanics and adjust their strategies based on the evolving environment.
Developed by Skarly, the former lead developer of Wolf Game, the game has drawn comparisons to other popular blockchain games like Raid Party and Crypto Valleys.
Why is this partnership significant?
Abstract is a Layer 2 blockchain that utilizes zkSync’s ZK rollup technology, which enables faster transactions with lower fees whilst maintaining the security of Ethereum. This technological backbone provides Onchain Heroes with a scalable and secure platform for its on-chain mechanics. Additionally, Abstract’s Global Wallet (AGW) simplifies the user experience, making the game accessible not only to blockchain-savvy players but also to newcomers to web3 gaming.
The collaboration will also integrate dApps directly into Onchain Heroes, enabling players to interact with other elements of Abstract’s ecosystem without leaving the game, opening up new possibilities for in-game experiences and community involvement.
Abstract’s success with projects like Pudgy Penguins, known for its large community and strong distribution network, makes it an ideal partner for Onchain Heroes as it seeks to attract a wide player base.
By aligning with Abstract, Onchain Heroes positions itself within a growing ecosystem of blockchain games, such as DUPER and Pengpals, which are also joining Abstract’s platform.
