Starbucks Korea is roasting up digital delights with its eco-friendly NFT project, “STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT”, starting tomorrow — a first of its kind in Asia.
As part of the Starbucks NFT rewards program, STARBUCKS STAR★LIGHT urges customers to use their own personal cups. When reusing their cups, customers earn Eco stamps on their Starbucks Rewards accounts, granting access to exclusive NFT rewards over time and enhancing the appeal of sustainable practices.
Also shining a light on NFT art, an exclusive exhibition featuring NFT artworks by local Korean artists will be on display at the Starbucks Jongno R store in Seoul until the end of January.
Unlocking Exclusive Starbucks NFTs
Members of Starbucks Rewards can earn NFTs by placing orders via Siren Order (mobile ordering) while using their personal cups, earning one Eco Stamp per purchase.
Once enough Eco Stamps have been collected, customers can exchange them for NFTs. Each customer can collect a maximum of three Eco Stamps per day, with three tiers of collectible NFTs available for redemption.
At the “BASIC NFT” level, one NFT can be redeemed for five Eco Stamps. Accumulating fifteen Eco Stamps unlocks a limited edition “CREATIVE NFT”, with a total of 20,000 copies available. Accumulating twenty Eco Stamps grants access to a limited edition “ARTIST NFT”, limited to 1,000 copies.
Note: Only one NFT can be issued per account, and customers need to collect the required number of Eco Stamps to obtain their desired NFT. For example, once a customer obtains a BASIC NFT with 5 Eco Stamps, obtaining NFTs of other levels will not be possible.
CryptoArt with a Purpose
Starbucks Korea’s NFTs are the fruit of a collaborative effort between Starbucks Korea and Print Bakery, one of Korea’s most prominent digital art platforms.
What’s more, the initiative showcases an extensive collection of digital artwork contributed by local artists, including renowned artist “DADAZ”. Centered around the theme “My Own Cup”, all digital creations emphasize the significance of reusable cups and tumblers in fostering a sustainable environment.
The coffee giant’s exclusive NFT exhibition at its Jongno R store in Seoul additionally serves as a vibrant testament to Starbucks’ unwavering dedication to blending artistic expression with a commitment to a greener future.
Starbucks Korea NFT initiative is not just about NFTs; it’s about using art as a powerful tool to promote sustainable practices and inspire positive change.
