The new crafting season is upon us in Genopets, bringing with it new Augment styles, color crystals, and energy boosts. This also means that a significant portion of the original items are now uncraftable, and will only get more and more rare as time goes by!
Crafting receives a rejuvenation in Genopets as a whole new set of items lands with the introduction of Crafting Season One!
The Season One set includes fifteen (15) new styles of Augments (resulting in 135 unique, possible variants), fifteen (15) new cosmetic crystals (five for each type of crystal), and three (3) new Energy Boosts to increase the steps to energy conversion. We also have a new hit point stat for Pets and items. This will factor into the upcoming, PvP feature of the game, and it also provides a step boost bonus like the other stats.
Energy Boosts are on-time use items that provide from 10 to 50% bonus to your step to energy conversion rate.
Additionally, Season One introduces the concept of set bonuses. We have three so far. The Jurassic set provides a 15% bonus to speed, the Aviana set provides a 10% hit point boost, and the Cetacia set provides +4 to all stats. To receive the bonus, the Genopet must equip all of the Augments matching that set style.
And while we have plenty of new items to craft, we must say goodbye to many others. In total, 150 items from the original crafting set are no longer available for creation. Depending on the success of Genopets, these could potentially become quite the collector’s items!
What is Genopets?
Genopets is a free-to-play, move-to-earn game built on the Solana blockchain. When using the Genopets app, players collect steps while walking. They convert those steps into Energy, and then use that Energy to level up their Pet or exchange for KI tokens. KI tokens are the main currency in Genopets and used to craft Crystals, upgrade Pets, and maintain Habitats.
Genopets visually change as they level up. Higher level Pets also offer a significantly better step to Energy conversion rate. Genopets features a number of NFTs. The main NFTs are Genesis Genopets and Habitats. Players convert Energy to KI tokens and craft Augments and Crystals using a Habitat. Genopets does feature a rental system if you don’t own your own Habitat. Augments and Crystals change the physcial appearance of the Genopet, and also offer bonus stats which will factor into an upcoming PvP system.
