DC COLLECTIBLE COMICS is here!
NFT comics are a form of NFT that has gained popularity over the last year. Projects such as Punks Comic by Pixel Vault, VeVe Digital Comics, and others, have significantly impacted the comic book industry. Now, DC Comics, the American comic book publisher and one of the most recognizable brands in the world, is launching a range of NFT comics.
Significantly, the DC COLLECTIBLE COMICS NFTs will come in two categories – Legacy and Modern. Legacy comics are releases of classic comics that have been out of print for years – such as the legendary Superman #1. However, the Modern comics will include more recent releases from the vast catalog of DC comics.
“We want to take the physical, real-world experience of collecting comics that so many of our readers have loved over the years and expand that into a new digital community,” said DC Senior Vice President and General Manager Anne DePies.
NFTs will reflect the real-life rarity of the industry
An exciting aspect of the DC COLLECTIBLE COMICS is the rarity and grading of the NFT comics. There are five rarity levels – Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, or Legendary.
When purchasing one of the Legacy collection NFTs, the rarity level will include digital wear and tear on the comics, reflecting how grading works in the comic book industry.
However, Modern collection NFTs will feature different variant covers for each level of rarity. Upcoming releases in the DC NFT comics line include Black Adam and others.
Finally, the NFTs will be launched on Palm Network, the Ethereum-based blockchain focused on energy efficiency.
