NFT-backed Fox television show, Krapopolis, has been renewed for a third season despite not airing a single episode. The animated series, from Rick and Morty co-creator, Dan Harmon, is based in a mythical ancient Greek city where flawed humans, gods, and monsters try to coexist without eliminating each other.
The announcement was made on March 2 through the official Twitter account for the show. Now fans don’t have to wait for it to kick off as they can start participating by voting, viewing exclusive content, redeeming rewards, and doing many other fun things.

Last August, Krapopolis launched its inaugural 10,420 Krap Chicken NFT collection. Holders of the NFTs can vote on various elements of the show, access behind-the-scenes content, attend IRL experiences featuring the cast and crew, and even redeem rewards for official merch and digital goods. However, the collection has not yet gained the kind of traction expected of such a high profile project.
NFTs Tied to the Shows Popularity
Despite the hardships Krapopolis NFTs might be facing, Michael Thorn, president of scripted programming at Fox, remains bullish on the project. Speaking to the press, he notes, “While [a third season order] is atypical, it was a no-brainer for us with ‘Krapopolis.”
That said, the show is set to debut sometime this year. It will be voiced by an all-star cast featuring Richard Ayoade, Pam Murphy, Hannah Waddingham, Matt Berry, and Duncan Trussell.
